ps2 burn help Please!

I have ps2 version 4, I am using Gameshark 2 Version 3.1... I am making burning games with a dvd-r and dvd-rw writer to sony dvd-r disks...I am not using a mod-chip just the gameshark and it keeps telling me cannot read disk. I think I my have wrong version of gameshark...I am using swap method...I push white tab over to the right to trick ps2 and then tray comes out and then i push white button back over with new disk in...could anyone please share any info you may have...thank you very much
