Hello guys I'm completely new to PS2 and i haven't even bought a ps2 yet. I have xbox but wanted to get a ps2 before they stop making them. I have a few questions..

first off does the swap magic work with all versions of ps2 even the newest? It says -

(Swap Magic allows you to boot up your own programs / games CD & DVD on your PS2 console. You just need a console with a no-solder mod-chip or use the swap magic together with Slide Tool, Slim Tool or Flip Top Cover.)

do you still need a mod chip with the swap magic?
are there any soft mods or no solder mods for the new ps2 since ill be buying the newest available.
