Hey guys,

I'm currently using the Slim Tool and Swap Magic 3.6 to boot my legal PS2 backups. I have run into a problem tho with my recently purchased Xploder V5 Cheat Disk.

I am testing this with the game Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time..! I load up Xploder normally, and I activate the "Infinite Health" code. I then choose Start Game, and swap the Xploder disk for Swap Magic 3.6 DVD. This then loads, and I then replace this with my Prince of Persia backup.

I play the game until reaching the first enemy. I am attacked and eventually run out of health. The Infinite Health cheat doesn't work..!

Can someone tell me how to get the Xploder cheats working with backups.. please tell me I haven't wasted my money on this cheat disk..!

Thanks,

I use to use AR Max with my back ups back when i used Swap Magic
3.0, but the process was a total pain.
Feel free to try it and see if it works.

It was not on a slim PS2 so just skip the eject parts.

DVD Loader links were outdated, a working download can be found here:

Nope Steimy it's not working. I work all the way through the method .. and when I finally get to inserting the backup, I do so, tell Swap Magic to boot it up and then I'm taken to the PS2 Browser, when I get the dreaded "Invalid Disk" message (This is not a valid Playstation 2 disk)...!

Please Help =D

wish i could man, but i have not used Swap Magic in over 2 years
It was a complete pain, especially using cheat discs
there are other posts here but most i have found show similar methods to what i said. although they were also using older versions of Swap Magic
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/338463
i searched all over the net and just can't find anything that was working for people. You may just need to get Swap Magic Coder and use that for cheats
or a good modchip which will have no problems loading back ups with cheats
i know my DMS4 Pro has no problems with AR Max
but it also has a build in cheat device so i can convert codes from any of the major cheat discs and enter them right into the chips memory and have no need for any discs at all.

Perhaps this Xploder V5 is more up to date and has new protection to prevent me from playing my copies with codes.

Steimy's method was using Action Replay, maybe this is why it wouldn't work.

Could someone please confirm this Action Replay will work..?

jin666 hope this helps

i also tried the armax+swap magic ( my orig armax and a downloaded hacked one that was meant to load backups but was a pile of turd), xploder +sm and yeh they were a total pain in the ass and rarely worked..even if the game started it wouldnt be long till freeze.

heres what i did, (i use mc exploit on fat ps2 so youll have to do things your slim way) gave up on that crap, download swap magic +coder 3.8, stick it on u memory card and boot ur games with cheats from there. youd have to enter cheats for new games but there lots of older ones in there for all region. im mainly PAL games so i use converted xploder or armax cheats, there guides here on AD to help with converting.

Now all my new games work with cheats finally!!!!!!! the only problem i ever get with this is sometime it takes me to original disc red screen but if i reset and immediatly boot it with cheats again in the same exact way the game loads...go figure. also make sure to select correct video mode as default screws up the games for me

and only one game i have doesnt work with it( it loads but cheats dont work) and its called "run like hell", and problems not the swap magic3.8 its some error converting the armax (m)code and i cant find an xploder v4 code for it.

so yeh maybe you wasted ur money on the xploder but at least you can download the smagic coder elf for free :D

Dont take it personally... NOW SUCK ON MY ASS!!
