My friend is teaching me to flash my 360 and he says I can use a long wire and just put an end into the 9 and an end into the 0. I then push the power button and immediately pull out. Does this work?

Also, I need help removing the wires from the white connecter. They just won't come out and I can't manipulate the tabs!

dude

here are very basic things to keep in mind when you ask for help:
1. what type of dvd rom (samsung or hitachi?)
2. what type of flashing method are you trying to accomplish

provide us as much info as you can so that we can understand what the heck you are asking help for!

You only need to do the 2 wire trick if you have a Hitachi drive. I would not suggest using 1 wire and trying to pull it out. Use 2 it is safer.

You have to lift the white tabs. They are not that hard to lift up if you get something that can fit under them. Be careful not to break them though.

If it is a hitachi drive then i suggest just gettign yourself 3 needles / pins and using them. No need to do anything with the connector, just push 1 pin in the 9 hole, 1 in the 0 hole and then use the third pin to bridge them. This always works a treat for me :-)
Just make sure to take away the bridge as soon as the xbox light comes on. ( the 2 pins in the holes cna be left there while flashing)
