First let me say this- I am not loyal to any one system, i am a GAMER first. Not only am i a fan of vidoe games but i am a fan of business and over the last year it is my opinion that Sony as a business is in BIG trouble.
The PS3 is nothing more then a glorified Blu Rey player. Sony has decorated this player with a videogame system on top. They are forcing customers to become dedicated to Blu Rey whether they choose to or not. Big gamble considering there failures with Beta Max, Mini Disk, UMD's, etc. HD DVD is less expensive and looks just as good and most of all COST LESS. Another problem is MICROSOFT. The Xbox has been out for a whole year and is gaining a pretty nice install base which is constantly growing and what makes matters worse is the iminent price drop that is coming in May, 2007 in conjunction with the release of Halo 3 (wow!!) Another problem--- 3rd party developers are not dedicated to a system like the fans are, they are dedicated to making money. Case in point- Virtua Fighter 5. Sega initially announced this game as a PS3 exclusive but last week it was announced that it will be made for the 360 (i wonder why) Just recently a rumor has surfaced (Virtua Fighter 5 was a rumor too but look what happened) that Tekken 6 will be made for the 360. And recently the maker of Metal Gear Solid has recanted his previous statement that MGS4 can only be made on the PS3 to MGS4 CAN be made on the 360 (i wonder why?)I knew this would happen a year ago. 3rd party developers will start to jump ship.
The PS3 feels rushed and not polished. Simple things like playing custom tracks while playing a game is not possible (cell technology?) Whenever you download something you have to stop playing a game (cell technology?) No universal friends list, friends list only for particular game (why) Xbox does all the above with no problem.
With a year headstart for the Xbox and the Wii selling like hotcakes Sony has put itself in a bad position.
High Price
Loosing exclusive games
no unified internet service
a clunky user interface experience
The only thing thats left is a Blu Rey player and ironically it's the very reason why the Xbox has a year headstart and it's whats going to kill the PS3. Just my opinion.

I totally agree with you. I'm not bias against any system. I'm a gamer and I got all the systems. Whoever decided to incorporate Blu-ray into PS3 is retarded and probably got fired. The system is way too expensive cause of the Blu-ray. Most people don't realize this but the HDMI cable is about $100 in order to play in hi-def. Sony is in the talk with competing rival HD-DVD to settle on a format. Bad News for SONY AGAIN!!! People can start to see PS3 on shelves in stores since last week. I live in Chicago and i really didn't have too much trouble finding one. If Xbox is getting all those games too, they gonna take half the market share with the Nintendo Weak (Wii). Problem with Nintendo is the fudgin weak grafx.

It's so funny to be honest. People who went out and bought a Sony are pure fans. No thinking was involved in their purchase. Sony is about to implode.

You sir appear to be the one that has no thinking involved. I for one did not buy the ps3 because I'm some loyal Sony consumer (not the case at all). I simply just compared the actual $ per component and found that the PS3 is actually cheaper than the 360 for its components.
search google, many system war threads have shown the graph> I on the other hand when choosing between consoles, took a pencil to it myself and came to a similar conclusion. Blu-ray player or not, the idea of the ps3 is to bring home entertainment systems fully to the HD world in 1 device. HD Gaming and HD movies.
If you believe you are a true "gamer" and think that the 360 has the "quality" games you crave, then by all means...go play your 360 and leave your anti-ps3 comments to yourself.
I'm still of the belief that people trashing the ps3 aren't really fanboys of either console, they are just pissed cuz they can't afford one and are hoping to start a revolution for a price drop.

What, your not man enought to reply? I feel the same way, sony isn't forceing anyone on Blu-ray! I decided to go with Blu-ray, UMD unseucsesful? The PSP's are sellinglike crazy man! Sony is makening good money off them, do you consider that unsucsesful? Get your Facts right, then maybe people will listen!
I hate how people come to the site just to bitch about one thing to anouther, not to actualy help people like it is intended!

The company gets money its the whole point wow every company gets money from Arnots right up to Mercedes-Benz,So hwy is sony different? Their not they are a company this si liek anotha thread that got closed like 2 weeks ago
The blu ray player well no one is forcing you to buy it but what they are trying to do is when you do buy a Ps3 and play a video you will straight away suport Blu-ray Ahead of HD-DVD that is perfectly fine nothing wrong with it I also live with Knowing that Micheal Shumacher Gets 25million Pounds a Year for Driving a car while normal workers average around 1,000-2,000au a week for doing a heck of alot more.
Thats life you cant change anything about it everyone would want to including me o'boy id change 1milliion things what ive done counting what the world has done id change who knows how many things,First Id make everything free LOL!
