I've taken a look at the swap magic compatibility list (http://www.swapmagic3.com/Swap_Magic_Compatibility.asp) and it seems rather small. There are almost no new or recent games on that list.

Is it really that bad? There is a lot of talk about using swap magic discs but no talk on how it won't play any new games.

I've got a new slim ps2 and want to play copied games, new games too. What is the best option? Is there any way of playing new games? (Such as guitar hero,) Maybe a chip will do it.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

That list is merely updated by Swap Magic users who have submitted their own experience with a particular version of a game. If you notice, a lot of people are only testing one region (USA, EUR, or JAP) and not marking off the same game title if it was already listed from a different region.

You can't be guaranteed that this list will show EVERY SINGLE GAME that people have played. Especially when it's only maintained by end-users. Besides, there's no way to literally test every PS2 game anyway.

From my understanding, Swap Magic 3.6 works with nearly every PS2 game smaller than 4.35gigs (since 4.35GB is the size of SM's dvd). And if there's a game that doesn't work, other people have made their own disc swap utilities (DVD Loader for example) which will usually work... It's a double swap but it's not the end of the world.
