today i was just sitting around playin my ps2 the it just shut off so i went over and looked at it and the power light wasnt even on anymore.
so i unplugged it and plugged it back in and still the light wouldnt turn on so i tried turning it on and it wouldnt work.

Probably, fuse like Steimy said, or power adapter is messed up. You'll just have to trace to see where the power went out.
