sorry to bother all of you guys but i need some help, and i know this play is the place to be. i am trying to flash a ms28 drive for the first time, and i have followed all the tutorials and here is where i am getting stuck. i don;t have a via pci card but i have a ich5 onboard sata chipset that i know is compatible because the drive is getting detected. the part i am stuck at is when you have to power off the system, select your drive from mtkflash (ich5 pri master), when i press enter and quickly turn the 360 on it just freezes there. can anyone help please??? thanks in advance.

I thought you had to wait 10 seconds after hitting enter then turn on the 360.

honestly i tried everything, i don;t think it is exactly 10 secs, i think there is like a 10 sec window. but should i select my drive, wait 10 secs then turn on the 360?? or should i turn on the 360 wait 10 secs and then select my drive??

as soon as it boots to dos turn on the 360 once you type your command mtkflash w /m hacked.bin or whatever and the drive selector comes up and you see your drive turn the 360 off, the once you select your drive and it it says those two things under it about mode or something then wait 10 senconds and turn the 360 on and it should IMMEDIATELY start flashing it, if not reboot and try again, you have to get it just right, it took like about 30 tries my first time

for teh 10 sec method you MUST HAVE the syba via-150 chip. Find it on New egg for $24.

no you dont have to have it, i flashed my original firmware back over without that and i retrieved my orginal firmware with a VIA chipset so thats not true
