New to this so i hope someone can help.

Just recieved dbox from a friend, connected it to Telewest splitter but all i'm getting is a black screen with error channel not available. I had a look at a couple of other threads which suggested searching again with fast search turned off but it still dosnt seem to be picking up any channels.

What exactly is flashing a new image and is it easy enough for a complete newbie to do. Or could it simply be that the settings are not correct?

Not paid for box yet so dont really want to mess about to much with it.

Mate from past experience it sounds like the cable feed isnt connected right, or your runnin a non uk image. If the box works elsewhere then id check your cable feed

I would imagine the image is ok as my mate been using the box, he's just moving house to an non-cable area.

As i said i'm totally new to this so maybe is me thats connected it wrong.

possibly mate try get some1 that knows to have a look at it... maybe your mate or something. Oh and btw where abouts does your mate stay isit a different area from you? or closeby? . Because sometimes the channel data can vary depending on your area

I stay bout half-hour from Glasgow he was in Ayrshire, do u think that would be a problem. Dont think i could get him to look at it anytime soon.

How would i go about putting a new image onto it?? Is it easy enough?

Alright mate i know a guy from glasgow aswell, and an ayrshire service file wont work on his box. try going to dbox-service- channel scan or something like that. This will let you search for channels and if you can see them then you just gotta arrange bouquets. it will let you see wither its your cable connection or the data within the box.
