Faulty wireless card?

I've been having problems with my PS3's wireless internet ever since I first turned it on. It took hours to download the first system update, and demos from the playstation marketplace were taking so much time, I cancelled them all. I looked around on the forums and never thought much of it, cause other people were having similar problems. Because it was near Christmas, the Playstation Servers were no doubt, bogged down.

However, then I tried a wired connection, and voila. Fast downloads. I assumed it was my own router that was faulty.

But just now, I performed one final test. I hosted an mp3 on my website's server, and downloaded it via wifi onto my PSP. It took 50 seconds. I then tried to download it via wifi on my PS3. Over nearly 500 seconds.

Do I have a faulty wireless card in my PS3? Is there some way to fix this?
