Hi , i have 2 questions to ask ..reply if you like.

1.Which is the best MOD chip for ps2? and why?

2.Is it possible to play games with swap magic(coder edition) without using flip-top or the flip-card(or however you call it) ?
What i mean :
You just enter the boot disc and then the game.

Thanks.

1. I don't know for sure but i have heard that DMS4 is the best modchip for ps2.
2. You need a flip-top or slide card for using Swap Magic.

PS2 50004(v9/v10) flip/flopcover with Swap Magic 3.8

Nice , thanks.

About the mod chip :
All i have to do is to buy the chip(just the chip? nothing else?) , and
ask from someone to install it on my ps2..right?\\

edit:
I have the old ps2 version**

I read somewhere that you cant play ONLINE GAMES with the mod chip..is it true?
If yes , if i get this one:
http://www.thegiantstore.com/index.asp?P...PROD&ProdID=265

flip top + swap magic 3.6 plus , i will be able to play ALL the games?
and even online(not using the back ups) games?

I found this guide:

Its just what i need for my case?

Thanks alot , and i hope i can get a reply! thanks.

well if you like online play and it will work with your version PS2 then the Crystal Chip V2.0 would be best for you.
Why is that is has a feature to auto patch your back ups for online play so your back up discs do not have to be manually patched. If using originals then you can just disable the chip as it will not be needed.

No, you need to buy a flip top (slide cards you can make but they are a lot harder to use)

and on a side note, you have 2 real options on modding it.
1. send it to a reputable site like Teammodders and have them mod it and send it back (it will come ready to go out of the box)
2. buy the chip and have someone local who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING
mod it. (you may need to download a flash and flash the chip if they do not do it for you)

also google "PS2 Versions" because you need to know the exact version of PS2 you have to know if the chip will work.
not just that it is a fat or slim model

Anyway , i dont care since i can do everything with the swap magic..

Can someone give me some tips for the installation part of the flip top?
like what to avoid etc..
(i have a video but the quality sucks)

well if it is a fat version PS2 then be very careful when
taking off the top cover. The power/eject ribbon is connected
to both the top & bottom of the case and can be pulled out
or broken quite easily

this post was only started this month, and this month is only 9 days old so why would you assume that it is dead?
You need to be more patient.

Yes , i have the "fat" version with the 8 screws (v4 or v5 or v6 or v7..).

Thanks for the tip , when the package arrive i'll have it in mind.

One last question: The memory card's slot is connected on the flip top by default ? or i have to remove it also?

Thanks again.
