Ftp and my xbox

I can't seem to connect to my xbox using an ftp program. I have a router and i'm pretty sure all the cables are hooked up properly. Computer to port 1, WAN to modem, and port 2 to xbox. Is there any specific settings i must use or configurations that i'm not aware of? I'd appreciate any help at all.

what program are you using to connect to the xbox. FlashFXP is the most recommended. is your network set up as DHCP? is so, you may need to edit the evox.ini file and change the settings to static IP = NO. then if you have a skin that shows the xbox IP on the screen, go to flash FXP and connect to that IP, username and password are both xbox - port 21.
