I've just ripped a double sided DVD (series: Friends) with decypter and was trying to use TMPGEnc DVD Author to combine both sides...when i select the .vob's and click next i get an error msg that the input file is illegal and that i should use mpeg1 or mpeg 2 compliant files....anyone have an idea what i'm doing wrong here ????

Here is a guide for TMPGEnc DVD Author:
http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/tmpgenc_dvd_author.htm
You'll have to keep in mind that both sides of the disc will not fit onto one DVD-r unless you compress the resulting title-set via DVD Shrink or DVD2One.

The idea was indeed to rip with decrypter and put both sides on 1 DVD+RW by using DVD2ONE ... Theproblem is that TMPGEnc DVD Author was not accepting the VOB files... i started all over again and now i can put 7 VOB's in 1 project but when i try to add the 8th i get an error msg (saying it wasn't able to enitiate decoder) in TMPGEnc DVD Author... is this because my total project is like 7GB's or could it be a bug in my trial version of TMPGEnc DVD Author ? (by the way, i was using Chris's guide step by step to decrypt ...)

The DVD Shrink one? Dont compress any of it until you have created the project in TMPGEnc DVD Author. It will allow projects bigger than 7GB. Compress once the File structure of the VOB's are created. Your files should be mpeg2 in VOB format already. Only select VOB's

Started all over again (once more :) ) ...ripped with Decrypter, then tried to add all the VOB files in TMPGEnc DVD Author ...everything worked fine for 7 of the 8 vobs but when i tried to add the eight VOB i got the same error message (saying it wasn't able to initiate decoder)...skipped this file, compressed the project with DVD2One and burned it...plays fine (quality is not great though)... only problem (for) now is that i can't add an extra file to this project in TMPGEnc DVD Author ....
