when i try to play nba 2k7 it says dnas error -864
what does this mean

It means you have an invalid dnas code. Either you patched game with wrong dnas or you didn't patch at all. To play ps2 games online you will have to patch dnas code. If you don't know how to do this just search for dnas patching, and you will get all the info you need to do this.
