My friend recently installed a DMS4 S.E. Lite in my Ps2....everything seemed to go swimmingly. We started it up only to see a red screen...We havent gone back through it to check out the installation yet.

Can anybody tell us where to start looking or is this just the kind of thing that can be too generalized.

Please please please help!

Thanks,

Tony.

did you flash the chip with ToxicBIOS?
that would be the first thing you need to do after you install it.
http://www.teamtoxic.com.cn/

if not download it, unzip it and burn the cue file to a CD, then put it in the PS2 and play it and it will flash the chip. This is needed in order to play back up discs.

If you have then i would assume it is the wireing or something else
with the install that is wrong. really not enough information to tell since the Red screen can be so many things

Fixed it! Bridged wires on the bios...new problem now...

I used Alcohol 120% to burn the toxic cd...I have the 3 files in the cd like it says should be. I put the disc in and it reads it as a ps2 disc but when i go to upgrade it the toxic screen displays "DMS4 Hardware not found!" along with a few specs about my ps2...

Any clue here?

Recheck the soldering, maybe the heat from desoldering the bridged wires accidentally loosened up one of the legs, or something similar.
Also, make sure you are using toxicBIOS, not ToxicOS.
