when trying to decrypt snow dogs with shrink it gets to 16% then gives the error cdvd/css failed crc redundancy check. so i tried dvd decryptor and it gets too 16% and gives the error circ unrecovered error. (yet the film plays on a stand alone player so it cannot be damaged) also decryptor says that one of the vob files could not be unlocked. is this a known problem with disney films as iv'e managed to back up all other films fine with shrink and never had to resort to decryptor.

I can't vouch for Snow Dogs, but I just backed up at least 6 disney titles using Shrink without the error you mention. It sounds more like it is a damaged disc to me.

Maybe you could try the ignore error setting in decrypter.

All I know is Disney is cutting edge when it comes to new versions of Macrovision. Maybe they've got a new system, and we need to try to catch up.

Disney pay a fortune to try to prevent copyright fraud. Look at their self destructable discs as an example. The error you are getting is quite common wth DVD Shrink. try decrypter as it usually gets round them.

thanks for the advice. set decrypter to ignore errors then ripped full movie too a file. shrink still threw up errors when trying to open this file so i used DVD2One to open file and compress movie. this has worked a treat. but i still use shrink when possible(after ripping with decrypter first). iv'e also noted that brand new films are showing errors on decrypting that could only be from manufacture and that stand alone players seem to handle these errors ok..(films in question stargate, the phantom mennace and snow dogs.)
