I just started using Emule today, due to my extremely desperate want for a 6x mb file :D

I read the tutorial, tried things, releasing a lot of files, and now i have a question -

i understand the concept of queues - i believe i start the file grabbing when i hit the top of the queue. and the transferring does start! But the thing is, it always goes slower than 1/kb/sec - which i believe is normal - but the worst part is the transferring always stops after a few minutes. then i have to wait again.

Why is this happening? even if I hit the top of the queue I can only get a small part and wait again?

One reason it might be stopping is that you are getting different parts of the file from different users. When you finally get the download to start on one queue and it stops is probably due to the fact that you have finished downloading the part of the file that was available. Then it will be waiting to get another part of the file on another queue that you need to complete the file. I could be wrong on this, but there are more knowledgable people that will correct me if I am.

As far the download speed just give it time and it will speed up the more you let the program run and the more popular files you release like you stated will help.
