I have a good grasp of what I'm doing.. I've successfully dummied ISOs to build them up when burning to a DVD, as well as converted CD games to DVD and intruduced dummy files.
I want to do the opposite, I want to make some ISOs smaller so they take up less room on my hard drive when playing with HD Loader. I've already accomplished this with a bunch of other games.
MegaMan X8 has escaped me, though. It has a 1.25gig dummy file... it's a simple enoguh procedure of replacing it with a 1byte dummy file, as I've done with others, but when it comes time to rebuild the DVD in DVD-Generator (either v1.5 or v2), I get that error; "Too short location length. (Less than 600000 sectors)"
now, I imagine it's because either there isn't a single file LARGER than 600000 sectors, or because the total disc size isn't over 600000 sectors. But, it doesn't let me compile it as a CD either because it's too big at that point.
I tried building the ISO in Nero, and I manually typed "SLUS_209.60" as the boot file with WinHiip when I transferred, but HDL wouldn't load the image.
Is there anything I can do to get this to work? It seems like it should be relatively simple... is there any way I can dupe DVD-Generator into letting me build the ISO even though it's so small? Any help would be appreciated.
