Can anyone verify if the ads for "Get a Free PS 3" are true? There are catches like signing up for Blockbuster Online and things like that, but can anyone verify if you actually get the PS 3 after signing up for these promotions?

I decided to try one of those for fun the other day. The ad was flashing "GET A PS3 FOR FREE" but when I clicked the link it said "CONGRATULATIONS! FOLLOW THESE STEPS FOR YOUR FREE LAPTOP!".

I continued on, just to see what would happen, and it said that I needed to sign up for a bunch of stuff listed on a web page. Wondering if they actully cared, I clicked the continue button at the bottom of the page without actually doing any of the offers. It took me to a new page where I had to put in my address information with a title at the top: "TELL US YOUR ADDRESS AND WE'LL SEND YOU YOUR FREE CAMERA!"

This is where I stopped. DO NOT give into scams like this. Here's some stuff listed in their Terms and Conditions:

"To receive the free membership incentive gift you must complete all of the steps outlined herein. Prospective members must: (a) submit their zip code to determine geographic eligibility; (b) register with a valid and deliverable email address; (c) submit accurate contact and demographic information including a mailing address; (d) acquire two advertiser action points from each of PTP's three Offer Groups for a total of six advertiser action points. Action points are earned when a PTP user fully completes an advertiser offer after accessing the offer by clicking on a link provided on the PTP website or from the PTP member area. Attempting to gain action points in any way other than clicking on the advertiser links provided by PTP will result in the cancellation of your PTP membership. Please understand that this means completing two offers from the Top Offers group, two offers from the Prime Offers group, and two offers from the Premium Offers group. The Prime Offers group and Premium Offers group may be accessed from the PTP member area. (e) you must complete and return an Incentive Redemption form after accumulating the required action points. The form may be downloaded from the member area after you have earned six points. Please understand that failure to supply current and accurate address and demographic information on the redemption form may hinder our ability to deliver the incentive gift to you.

"We also collect information such as the identification of the server your computer is logged on to and whether you responded to e-mail messages or other advertisements delivered to you on our behalf. We also may compare our member list to lists received from other companies, in an effort to avoid sending identical messages to our members. You can add and modify any of the information you have provided by following the instructions set forth below.

"Right to Sell/License Data: CRC may sell and/or license the personal information that you provide to us to third party businesses. These businesses may include providers of direct marketing services and applications, including lookup and reference, data enhancement, suppression and validation, email marketing, and telemarketing.

"Third Party Action Tags. We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf. These companies may employ cookies and action tags (also known as single pixel gifts or web beacons) to measure advertising effectiveness. Any information that these third parties collect via cookies...

"Please note that it may take up to eight weeks for our marketing partners to report to us that you have completed their offer. Please be patient while our marketing partners report back to us."

And these are just bits and pieces that I scrounged together. The actual Terms and Condition page listed a LOT more.

Never buy into any of that. They are almost all(with the exception of the ones that the average person is not eligable for at all which defeats the purpose of the ad being where it is) just a scam. Once they get your information, they just run. Then in about 8 weeks, when you should be receiving your "free gift", you receive bills upon bills upon bills upon bills upon bills...

Upon more bills. And what sucks more is that that Ferrari "you" bought isnt yours.

YOU?! All I ever get is the bills! BTW, I like your sig.

-EDIT, P.S. you should slow it down. I had to download it then watch it frame by frame awhile back. As you can tell, I was really bored then.

ROFL! They NOT all scams! I've too participated in such sites and have got stuff, including a ps3 as explained by the following site:

*edit by Jannejt*

Just as there are many fake sites that take advantage of this system, there are many real ones that will give you stuff. You just gotta research it well before "BS-ing" it all a scam.

*Rolls eyes* If you know whats good for you, you'll close your account and never come back with your BS about whatever your trying to sell people on.

-EDIT, I suggest you do that soon before a couple masked guys show up at your door...

my friend accually got a free ipod. and my other friend got a 360. most of them are scams tho, be careful.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Well everyone that has come to these forums trying to sell people on their scam talk just like you. You could just be that one in a 9x10(to the power of)99th person who actually is telling the truth but I doubt it.

-EDIT, I say this because you provided a link which is the first thing that "they" always do.

-EDIT(again), See, I sorta believe anubis66 because he isnt giving out a link which doesnt make sense since they usually close out their domain after they do whatever they did.

Lol, I do them too. Sites like *edit by Jannejt* where you do one offer and refer people are legit.

I provided a link as that site seems to know what it's talking about and is explaining everything clearly. It's targeted towards people who don't know the system, thus, I mentioned it to all you ppl who think it's BS. I'm not providing a referral link like other people who go to forums do b/c that is not accepted here and would be spamming.

You believe anubis66 just b/c he didn't give a link? rofl. Why would he when he thinks people like you have already made up your minds thinking it's bs?

I guess "to each, his own"...
