i was able to update my firmware for my laptop, but i can't find the right one for my desktop.

it's a dell 3100,with windows xp,
my drives are (hl-dt-st dvd+-rw gwa4164b) &
( hl-dt-st cd-rom gcr-8485b)

i don't know what brand they are.
3?s
1) what's brands do i have ?
2) do i need to update the firmware for one or both ?
3) were can i find what i need ?

Hi.

They are both LG drives but I think you'll have to get any firmware updates from the Dell site since they were made by LG for Dell. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any.

You can try the LG site as well.
