Dev Hook prob no Volume!! pls help

ok, i was helping my friend to upgrade to 3.03 OE-A, he has a dual firmware 2.71 and 1.5 and he uses dev hook. since his firmware at that time is 1.5 we decided to upgrade it to 3.03 OE-A. i tried to make the DATA.DAX from oeupdatemaker and oeupdatemaker% i put it in /PSP/GAME. then i load it... it took a long time around 30 min, apparently one of the forums here said that it dosent write to flash when u do this so i just turned it off. then just put back all his files back from a back up we made before we messed with it. but now not one of the program works, no volume and it wont load a game. pls help!!! thanks

P.S.:do i have to unflash dev hook? but the program wont work...
