Thanks
I've had my PS3 60GB since December 27, 2006 and so far I haven't had any issue whatsoever. So far it plays everything I throw in there (PS3 games, PS2 games, Blu-ray DVDs, original DVDs, backup DVDs, surfing the net, downloading demos and playing them, etc.)

Same here had mines since launch nov 17 no problems what so ever.Ps3 would be your best choice.Looks like Blu-ray going to be the next format winner because its killing HD-DVD.
Microsoft: Ps3 cant do 60fps on 1080p. Guess what they were WRONG!!!!!
(11/19/05 - 9/19/06) Microsoft: Sony's 1080p support on PS3 is all Hype and Not Needed.
(9/20/06) Microsoft: Xbox 360 to add 1080p support.

I have had mine for 2 weeks now and no problems! I also own a 360, I feel that right now the 360 is a better console, just because it had been out longer and has more tittals, but in about 6 mounth I bet the PS3 will be alot better console! I have had several problems with my 360, I haven't played it for about 2 mounth because of the reason in the link below! If you read you can see that Microsoft has horrible customer sevice!

So no freezing or over heating problems so far, thanks this is helping HUGE, my only real problem now is that I love the Halo series and I heard that xbox is coming out with one called Zephyr or something like that and it claims to be one that wont freeze up, but I have never ever had probs with the ps2 before so I am still in limbo. I am thinking more and more ps3 so far though!! Can I play the WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 on it?

I left mine on all night because I had a long download list from the PS Store, and it was in the coldest room in the house (the one above the garage, that is the size of the garage, and outside was 13*F) and when I woke up and walked into the room it was about 74*F! It heated the room about 15*! But I haven't had any over heating problems! Man it is going to suck in the summer tho!

Is that a PS2 game? Or then yes! Every PS2 game that I have played works on the PS3! The XBOX Zypher will proably be out in about a year or so because Microsoft hasn't officaly anounced it yet!

So pretty much if you had money and wasn't a issue, and you had to buy one of the two, which and why??

IF you want the best game experiance out of the box today, then I would go with the 360 because there are alot more game titals out for it! There is also alot more downloadable content!
If you want the best gameplay experianse in the long run (in about 6 mounth) then I would go with the PS3! There will be killer tittlas out later just like the 360 has! Remeber how everyone can beet a 360 like Gears of War on insane in 6 hours you wont be able to do that one the PS3 because the game makers will be able to pack more data on the disks because it supports Blu-ray!
You also need to remember a new 360 will most likely be comeing out in a year or so! You can get it then!

Not too worried about the best games right now, ps3 has oblivion which I like so that would keep me busy for awhile. Again I would like to thank everyone for the help.

I hate to break it to you but...
My PS3 has been on for about 14 hours now, I have been playing it and downloading demos! I went to play a demo I had just downloaded (F1) and it froze at the loading screen to the first race!
Is this the first freezing problem that anyone has had/ a Ps3 that hasn't been in a Kiosk had?
Thanks
Domreis
I am going to try to restart! Will post back on what happened!

Well at 11 feet away the 720p is fine you aren't going to notice a difference with the 1080i that far away unless your sit 4 to 6 feet away from the set
your best veiwing/picture is at 720p at 60fps at the distance your sitting.
i am probably going to get a PS3 just for the Blu-ray to play with it

I am sitting 12 feet from my 92in screen and while watching Ricky Booby I was very impressed! I haven't seen better, not even in a Movie Theater!
Ps. I restarted my PS3 and it is back to normal! I don't know what happened!

@MichaelP1
Yes, you are absolutely right. With 10 feet or more you can't really notice the differences between 720p or 1080p, even with 1080i I'm still impressed. I think there's a survey somewhere that more than half of the people are getting the PS3 mainly for viewing Blu-ray movies. I completely agreed because it's cheaper that way (hence the 20GB PS3 is only $499 and the 60GB PS3 is $599), but a Pioneer Blu-ray player will cost at least $799 or more.
I know both you and I are into DVD backups, so it's just a matter of time when someone (those genius/hackers) or even AnyDVD (from SlySoft) or DVDFab Decrypter (from Fengtao) or RipIt4Me gets their hands on Blu-ray.
Now, that's what I'm talking about and you know the rest is history.
