Also, I have not figured out how to burn a 2nd dvd for the same file without having to through backing up the file again. DVD Shrink opens the first encoded file that was created to burn the 1st dvd but the only option that I have in DVD Shrink is to back it up again and create another file before burning the movie. Any help on this problem will be greatly appreciated.
BY THE WAY.....The process that I go through is I start with RipIt4Me which uses DVD-Decrypter to rip it to the hard drive. Then I use FixVTS after it is ripped. After that I open it with DVD Shrink whick backs it up and then uses Nero to burn it. And until yesterday this process was working fine for me.
Remove your Nero serial # 1A20...... use edit to do this, the little notepad and pen on the line of your post to the right.
Just set shrink to burn two discs in the "# of copies" window before the burn button is pushed if your Shrink is automatic burn with Nero, otherwise set it in Nero the same way.
Did you just change media? Is you firmware up to date?
Essentially the correct files are not there to play the DVD correctly. Nero checks to see if they are present and correct first (calling it re-allocation) and then burns. Something during the ripping process caused the file structure to become non-compliant, the file structure needs to be corrected to make Nero happy, this involves a bit of work with the use of a free application.
Try this to slove your problem: Look for the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVD Decrypter, inside you'll find all the video files (.ifo, .vob, .bup), my recommendation would be to move all the files except the VTS_XX_X.VOB files somewhere else and then recreate them using IFOEDIT. Load IFOEdit - click the 'create IFO' button down the bottom, tell it where your VOB's are - and it will do the rest. Specify the same directory as your original VOB's.
When the process is complete, open the files using shrink and proceed as you normally would with the backup process.
