swap magic plus 3.8 dvd, doesnt boot my ps2...any news about it?

i recently purchase swap magic plus 3.8 full package(the one with the flip cover)( giantstore)....installation flip top easy,cd smp 3.8 boot perfect,but the dvd doesnt work,turn with noise and did not wont boot...i read and try all the suggestion that i saw in this forum for to boot my dvd game on ps2 slim brand new console, and i follow step by step the suggestion to try to boot with the cd instead to use the dvd for the ps2 dvd games,no luck...(i have 2 ps2 and on both the dvd doesnt work,and with the cd smp 3.8 i cannot made work the dvd)....i write in this forum because i ask by email to the store a replacement only for the dvd smp 3.8 more than one week ago and i did not receive an answer.(to much busy to replace the dvd disk?...lol)......no big deal for the money,but im very curious to know at this point if we must to be lucky for to made the dvd work,and why the cd work and the dvd no?
any help or suggestion will be appreciate....

Not sure if this helps but the problem could be the brand of dvd you are using to backup the games. Try playing a dvd movie and see if that works and if so then buy some better dvd's.

ya i got the smd set and fliptop for slim ps2 from giantstore in november......the dvd disc worked about 3 times, then my ps2 would never boot it, but other ps2's would......i emailed them, got a quick reply, and got a new set of discs after sending the old set back to them......the new set of smd discs has worked for me for about 3 weeks now. just keep emailing them

need help on loading ps2 DVD+R backup games with Magic Swap 3.8 Plus...got it @ (modchip.com) - didn't come with any instruction at all. Installed those 3 tiny metal clips from online instruction. Tried many time but still no luck on using the swap dvd disc correctly. Can anyone give me step to step on laoding the swap magic 3.8 plus dvd disc and my backup games....I can play DVD+R and -r video w/o using swap disc at all.

I am sure that every ps2 or pstwo slime shuld work w/ the swap magic 3.8 coder. if u are in us then buy swap magic coder 3.8 us version the swap magic 3.8 coder the one that have black cover of the disc.Want to be sure to have it work buy it at consolepoint they have ps2 coder 3.8 the black disc it will work on ps2 and pstwo b/c i tried it on both.There are 2 type swap magic coder 3.8 us version one in black and blue the black one is the best.

one of the reason is because the dvd boot disc is not fully intact with your ps2 u might have to force the disc onto the spining thing. there are three clips that hold the disc make sure they are holdin your dvd disc. hopes dis helps u

When you turn the PS2 on with swap magic in it can you see the laser on the disc and does it spin. If not then try pushing down on the third tool or reinstalling it because sometimes it just comes up enough to not start.

first of all thanks to everybody that answered to my question/problem.....yes,my dvd sm 3.8 had a problem,its the poor quality of the cd were they recorded the software on, it does not fit very well inside the ps2,(one of the reason is because the dvd boot disc is not fully intact with your ps2 u might have to force the disc onto the spining thing. there are three clips that hold the disc make sure they are holdin your dvd disc)....thanks to yours suggestion i resolved my problem,and i can tell you this now, its a great program,work perfet on my european ps2 original games and on my backup copy on original ps2 usa games....and the cheats code too.....the post that i find on this website regarding how to use decrypter and the action replay/gameshark are great and i learn how to do it.....thanks to everybody again....
