XBOX softmoding ban

If you softmod your xbox, will you get banned? I want to know because I have a year subscription to live and I want to softmod my xbox so I can play copyed games but don't want to mod any of the games and get banned from match making in halo2 or just get plain banned from XBL. I will not use any modded games or maps. If anyone knows the answer to this, paese reply ASAP!!!! Thankyou very much!!!!

there is a very high risk of getting banned from live with a softmod UNLESS.. you take a very long look at azzidrain's softmod tutorial stickied in the xbox software forum. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/311710

A better prospect is to check out xlink-kai and play against other modders totally free.

Depending on what installer you have, it won't let you sign on live unless you coldboot. If you coldboot then you will not get banned.

How to coldboot: put the game in the tray, turn off the xbox, start the xbox with game already in the tray.

It is very risky i softmoded a box and would turn the softmod off and i still got banned so becarefull
