Help on playing .IFO file

Hi, I used Smartripper to rip entire DVDs, then I can use MicroDVD, WinDVD...etc to play the individual .VOB files, however, I really like to play directly from the .IFO files, with the menus and options and everything. So I was told to install IFOEDIT. However, when I go to play an IFO file, a message saying Getnumberofchapters Failed! will appear. Can someone help? All I want to do is, using IFOEDIT, open the IFO file and play it, as if there were a DVD in the drive. Thanks

I've read several suggestions to this error message on doom9's forum, and apparently you should ignore it. Another said that the problem was been fixed after renaming his rip directory 'VIDEO_TS'.

But, even if I do ignore the message, the movie does not play anyways. All my rip directories are name "VIDEO_TS". Any other suggestions? thanks

Smartripper. Maybe changing the question would yield more understanding. What player can I use, so that I can just play an IFO file, instead of creating a playlist of VOB files.
