I am trying to back up this movie but I am having some problems. I decrypted the movie using DVD Fab but when I open up the disc using DVD Shrink I get the error code "Invalid DVD navigation structure". Does anyone know what this means? Thank you....

Since shrink is nolonger updated, it's a copy protect error that shrink produces when it's unable to decrypt the movie properly. I did this movie using clonedvd2 with AnyDVD running in the backround (movie only).

FREE way/s:
Try using DVDFab decrypter (free) to rip with then use shrink to open the files and use it as you normally would.

DVDFab

or use ripit4me (something's up with the site at the moment), here's a link to the app: http://www.digital-digest.com/software/RipIt4Me.html

Use Anydvd and believe

DVDFab HD Decrypter (free)... http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

There are way too many threads concerning Shrink and its outdated nature and, in particular, this movie. Just search for it and you'll see plenty!

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

It's not just Shrink and about the only thing really obsolete about Shrink is the decryption software. Since many copy programs rely on second party decryption, that shouldn't be an issue. RipIt4Me has given both DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter a new lease on life. RI4M has been doing movies in full disc I couldn't with AnyDVD and the others.

As for navigation errors, many new DVD releases are causing that error because of the heavier copy protection that makes the video files appear non compliant to the recording software. Rip the files to the HD and process with FixVTS in Full DVD. Then open in Shrink. If Shrink does the full analysis, you should be in good shape. Better yet, set up RI4M and use the full process. http://www.ripit4me.org/ , and check out the guide, http://www.ripit4me.org/guide.html , it tells how everything works.
