Ok I have a .gme file I am trying to get onto my memory card. Yes I am very aware of DexDrive. But I have a MaxDrive, that goes through the USB port. It's not reading the .gme file as a game save when I try to move it onto the memory card. It won't read the file at all. I went to the support website www.codejunkies.com and saw that there save files have .max extention. I don't think they are really .max files persay b/c I dont think they exist.

How can I get this to work? Is there way to convert it? Btw its a gave save from MGS (ps1) and being played on PS2.

Please help!

.max is just the game save format for AR Max. If that is what you use then you may have to get gamesaves from codejunkies for them to be recognized and work. But i did not see any for MSG other than MSG Substance.

you may want to ask people using these gamesave types

i have not really found any good information on those saves that do not refer to using DexDrive

I'm gonna quote this from another thread, to hope maybe it might be some use to you. If it fails, then at least I tried...

equipment needed:
-a borrowed usb thumbdrive.
-a borrowed PS2.
-your pc and your PS1 :)

-PSXRC is a tool that can't work without PSXGE and ULaunchELF.
-ULaunchELF is needed for the transfer from the PS1 to the PC.
-PSXGE is needed to extract and insert "single game saves" from or into "full memorycard images".

-"single game saves" have the extention (.mcs) AND NOT (.mcr)
-"full memorycard images" may have different extensions (*.gme dexdrive,*.mcr epsxe)
-you MUST understand the difference between (.mcr) and (.mcs).

PSXRC can convert single game saves extracted from any full memcard (*.gme,*.mcr) compatible with PSXGE into raw saves.
wich mean that you have first:
-to extract your save "from a full memcard" (*.gme,*.mcr) using PSXGE.
-then convert the extracted "single game save" (*.mcs) using PSXRC.
-then do the transfer to your real PS1 memcard using ulaunchelf.

and it can also convert raw saves extracted from your real psx memcard using ulaunchelf (last version recommended) into "single game saves" compatible with PSXGE.
wich mean that you will have:
-to transfer "raw saves" to your pc using ulaunchelf.
-then convert the transfered "raw saves" using PSXRC.
-then insert your sngle game saves(.mcs) into a "full memcard" (*.gme,*.mcr) using PSXGE.

-use PSXRC by drag&drop'ing the files on it..
..(raw or .mcs) NOT (.gme or .mcr) :D

PSXRC can be found at: ps2savetools.com
