As you suggested I am using TEMPGenc author and have successfully split a couple of films however,lately, in the add dvd video wizard I get a huge file plus several smaller or empty ones.I select the big one then move to chapter cut / edit but can only see the first half(approx) of the film which is fine for disk one but leaves me stuck. How do I see the rest of the film please?

When u decrypt the movie it should create a number of files, VIDEO_TS, VTS, BUP VOB, etc...

The VOB's should be around 1GB each with the finally part useually being smaller. Check that when you rip into a folder, that all VOB's are there in full.
