Hello,

I have an mpeg film which is 700mb in size.

I would love to be able to burn it onto a dvd.

Ive tried using Nero and when it converts it, it says there is not enough space and it would require a DVD-9 disk.

is there any other way of doing this?

any hep would be great

thanks :-)

What is the running time of the movie?

the total running time of the movie is 2Hours 9 Min & 10 seconds.

I try to burn it using neros " make your own dvd-movie" but when i have added it, it comes up with this error

Quote:
Your project currently exceeds the capacity of a normal DVD, but still fits onto a DVD-9 disc.

Do you want to have the project quality reduced automatically so that your project will fit into the available space?
I click OK but it tells me it cannot be done and should be tried manually .

I use NeroVision 3. It's 'Standard Quality' setting defaults to a bitrate of 5073 kb/s. That's too high for your movie. You have to get it down to about 4400 kb/s. Look under your video options and see if there is a 'Custom' option for quality where you can input 4400 kb/s (it has be there somewhere).

Thanks for your help.

I tried changing it to 4400 kb/s and the mpeg copied onto my DVD-R.

the only problem now is, is when we watched it last night the sound was all. probably about a two second delay.

is there anyway i can correct this? or this a result of altering the bitrate?

thanks

Although I like Nero when it comes to Xvid/Divx AVI's most have VBR (variable bit rate) audio which Nero can't handle very well resulting in audio sync problems. But you say this was an mpeg? Usually 700MB files I see are AVI's.

The video bitrate has nothing to do with your sync problems.

Run it through this free app and see what it says.
