sprint motorazer v3m ringtones

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to download ringtones to this phone? Everytime I try from a non-sprint site I get a "need handler" command that takes me to the sprint ringtone store. I have converted the file to an mp3 file but still have had no luck. Is this a scam by sprint to force me to buy ringtones from them only? Please help. I am a newbie so detailed info is appreciated.
