hi there i have a slimline ps2 model no scph70003 PAL, with a matrix infinity v 1.38 chip, the problem im having is some times my back ups wont play ? i get that damn red screen and at other times the same game will load no problem. A way round this i have found is put an original game in for about 5mins switch off ps2 then insert back up and this does the trick. BUT WHY is my ps2 doing this ? and is there a way 2 resolve the problem ?

Have you updated the Matrix firmware. Current version is 1.93.

Your problem sounds like bad (poor quality) media. What type (and manufacturer) of discs are your using? Have you tried using DVD+R discs and book typing your burns as DVD-ROM?

What speed are you burning your discs at? Do you have Nero? Have you ran a Quality Scan on your backups?
