they are all capable given the firmware is the right version. you have nothing to fear with ta-082. its just a different process

i installed 2.71 and it says on da umd fing 1c9001 but when i run dark alexs guide and the part where you run the idstoragechange it says PSP doesn't seem to be a TA-082. why? when 1c9001 is capable.

if it's not a ta-082 you need to use a different downgrader
if it says 1c9001 i think its a ta-079 or ta-081

If you're on 2.71 then use this downgrader :-

http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=755

You're motherboard is fine to use with this version. Just follow the on screen instructions, its easy. Only thing with this downgrader is that it doesnt always work first time, but it does work (I have done about 10 PSPs with this one).
Once all the files are installed on your PSP you are meant to click on the Photo menu on your PSP and the screen shoud go RED. If it DOESNT then just turn the PSP off, back on and then try it again. Ive had to do it about 15 times for it to work before now.
