need help with hard drive swap iso cd, wont load the dash

i have wasted 9 dvd-r's trying to make an iso cd with the evoxdash.xbe (renamed to default.xbe), the ini file (with the edited menu section), and my 5 backup files in the backup folder

i have tried various writing speeds (2.4, 4, and 8) and none of them worked
i used craxtion to make the iso file and burned the image file with Nero

i put the new hd in and and when i put the cd in and restart the xbox it loads the bios xbox screen at the beginning and then it never switches to the dashboard, it just stays at the bios screen

has anyone else had this problem... does anyone know how to fix it, because im out of ideas... thanx
