I did a search (maybe rather poorly, but nothing came up.) I've been attempting to do the "Mech Installer" method located here.

The problem I have been running into is that I can copy the files over with Ozxmemory (tried every image file, and write file size), but when I move it over to the Xbox, the card is titled as "Mechinstaller 1.0".

I even tried booting up into Knoppix, and copying everything over to the flash drive that way and experinced the same problems with Ozxmemory in Windows.

I thought maybe if I waited several moments the files would appear for me to copy over to the Xbox hard drive, but they did not.

Is it possible that because I am using a 1 gig flash drive (Lexar Jump Drive Sport to be specific) that is preventing a "proper" copy?

If anyone has any insight (or a similar problem) on what the problem may be, please respond.

PS. For those that might be asking what Dash version I'm running, it's: ".4920.01"

I think your dash isn't updated. I think it is 5960. Try putting in an XBL game and see if it updates.

I thought anything over .4920.01 wasn't going to allow me to install it properly?

wait its not totally incorrect i think for that instller u have to have that dash but i dont see how because every uplink to xbox live the box is updated anyway i wouldnt use that
