where is the cheapest place to buy ps3?
i herd that it was about £250-300 in japan.
i live in the uk so would it be better for me to ship one from somewhere else like japan or US?

i got mine from ebay.com !

220pounds with 70pounds postage and 70pounds tax. altogether it came to 350

The PS3 has a price cap, where stores can only sell it for one Price... Ebay is your best bet!

I don't how much help this will be to you but ask around because my cousin bought one off a friend of his who was hard up for some cash(he claimed he was bored with it but whatever)for 300 bucks.Other then that you can check around pawn shops even(if you trust them)but I think the best answer will be ebay.

this wont work for you in the UK, but for those in the US...
you might also want to look into getting a toys r us wish certificate on ebay (have to move quickly cause they expire 1/31). They give 25% off with NO restrictions other than gift cards. I got my ps3 60gb for 450 that way (in delaware...no tax). You have to pay with an amex card though.

That is a felony charge though! Buying property that you know is stolen! So I wouldn't recomend it!
