HD LOADER AND HD ADVANCE PROBLEMS

Hello, I have a version 7 PS-2 (two of them both with DMS 3 mod chips) and lately I have been getting an error when trying to start a new hard drive 160GB or 300GB. The program loads, I format a new drive (I tried the HD Loader on the 160 and the HD Advance Ver 3.0 on the 300), I attempt to install a game I enter the name, it appears to install, then gives me a message that there is not enough room on the hard drive. I have tried both PS-2's with new network adapters, and new programs (originals), and now need help. The hard drives are Maxtor, and the jumpers are on master. I did have a previous hard drive working but sent it to a nephew for Christmas.

did you check your hard drive against the hd compatible list? HOw did u format it? Using HD Advance or via computer?

I used HD Advance 3.0, and last night I tried to use the Hard Drive Explorer software I found a link to and burned it to a CD then put it in My PS2. It kept on telling me to wait it was installing. After 2 hours, I finally restarted it and now it will not even give me a Sony start up screen. It has a DMS 3 mod chip, and I tried to go to that screen upon start up by holding L1 L2 R1 and R2 while restarting and it does not work.

Needless to say I am feeling frustrated. I hope someone can help.

I start it and I get nothing but a black screen. I can hear it running and it sounds like it is trying to do something, but I don't even get the Sony startup screen.
