psx save game possible?

Does anyone know how to save games while playing psx games on psp. I'm playing metal slug x and I want to know if I can save the game and come back to it, or if I'm just going to bear down in finish 'er off.

The save feature has to be in the PSX game itself. If it is not there in metal slug then you cant save. But I think Metal Slug has one so search around in the menu's

No I don't think there's a save game in metal slug x, then. Oh well.
