i was wondering whether or not u cud play backups without downloading linux os or anything like that like say i go to pakistan and get a game for my ps2 but my ps2 dosen't have a mod chip so it won't work but on a ps3 can u play without downloading stuff and get the game and work i t without the hassle

noooo not yet. no matter what, some fiddling will have to be done in order to play backed up/other region games.
