first time on forum so do apologise for any mistakes.in order to copy a dvd-9 movie ,downloaded dvd2one,dvd decrypter.I have a copy of the guide.Was instructed to first rip the dvd.In doing so was presented with an aspi problem in Dvd decrypter which i have managed to solve.Alas i now have a new problem.I go to edit and then select all movie files as instructed in the guide.then region patch.So far so good.Then on trying to decrypt the poo really hits the fan.The following message is displayed "UNABLE TO DEDUCE KEY FROM SOURCE FILE.REASON:FILE READ FUNCTION FAILED.IGNORE THIS ERROR AND CONTINUE WITH NEXT FILE."Little frustrated.I have a toshiba sd-r6012 drive and is locked onto region 2.Does this make any difference when ripping a region 1 film.I only want to make a backup.Would be grateful for any feedback.Thankyou

You need to change your dvd reader to region 1 otherwise it can't read it. If your reader is locked you can get a patch to make it region free, try doom9. Good luck

Still no luck.I downloaded dvd region free.the dvd drive was then able to play all regions.tried to decrypt and the same error message"unable to deduce key from source file".Just a little piddled off.Strange because i even tried to decrypt a region2 film with DVD Decrypter and my laptop plays region2 and still the same message.Any ideas anybody.Please help.Gagging to make some backups.

Ok, I have no problems with mine, I have MODE set to file (tick next to file) and everything in settings I left alone. Check your mode option is set to file if this doesn't work you could always try re-installing as a last resort. Godd luck

Fiel, IFO 1 should be the mode to select to create VIDEO_TS compliant files. You can select ISO to burn as an image using Decrypter
