Hi, 1st I will say I have a Sony DRU-500A. I've been trying to find a good way to keep getting quality, working DVD-RW/DRD+RW for a decent price. I can go to the store and see 5 packs go for around $25-30. I know for sure I could get cheaper DVD's out there, but is the quality as good. I can go on ebay and see 100 packs go for around $80. Now that is one big difference in price. I mainly want to use the DVD's to backup/store data and backup some of my DVD movies. Which discs do you recommend to use with my DRU-500A to do this? What is the best/most reliable place to get them? Ebay? some online store? I doubt its at any retail store. I just want to be sure the discs are good quality and will be compatible with the burner before I go and buy a 100 pack or even a 50 online and find on the 1st disc that it doesnt work. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Tosca

Personally I wouldn't use Ebay, the next step up is not any better considering that I've been reading 'bout how some folk got burned at the same place I usually get Riteks (good quality for a good price) from.

Since most of these Ritek places sell their stuff with free shipping it is best to get small quantities if you are just archiving. How much data do you back up during a month, right? So twenny five dvd-rs should last you a while.

I will assume most people get burned (no pun intended) when they buy large quantities of dvd-rs at a time. I have mostly purchased spindles of 25 at a time and have yet to come up with a bad batch. Just an assumptive opinion.

I agree with Tosca, use a good on line retailer

With ebay you can end up with anything. On line is good, but don`t knock retail until you look. IF you live near a lot of computer stores, check them out. They will have the same stuff as online and you don`t have to pay shipping. I live near 25 computer stores all on the College street. Walking down the street is the best price comparison.
