I've been reading all the posts on Saw III. I see so many different
combinations of software being mentioned. It made me really curious
as to which of these combinations can be put on the same machine
and not cause software conflicts.
Can Rip It For Me and AnyDVD be run on the same machine at the
same time? Also what about DVD decryptor and Fab DVD Decryptor?
I used XCopyDVD when it first came out, but uninstalled it and
Roxio so I could use AnyDVD, Shrink, Imgburn, DVD Decryptor, and Nero.
It sounds like the experts here have worked with almost all of
the programs. Surely some had to be uninstalled to use others.
This is the first movie I could not copy with what I use--So am
interested in what I can add without screwing up what I already
have working.
bbmayo, is by all accounts a well respected and knowledgeable AD member. He has a site with great guides and all the software you'll need, There is bound to be a COMBO there, that may enhance what you've got already...Here's the link

both can run on the same machine BUT you have to disable the AnyDVD to run RipIt4Me. no you can't run both programs at the same time

Roxio "Drag To Disc" will conflit with many many burning programs . not recommed to have on your machine
When I had Drag to Disc I was able to just turn it off and continue work. I was one of the luckier ones. Some systems with Roxio had to have the whole program cleaned off. But batch ware such as Drag to Disc and InCD in Nero are a definite no when doing DVD backups.
aabbccdd pretty much covered the don't run AnyDVD with RI4M. For that matter you don't run any on-the-fly decryption with RI4M. AnyDVD plays with most programs, but there's a few exceptions.
Once RI4M is run properly the files can be opened in most any editing, transcoding or encoding program. Once transcoded or encoded with the program of choice any of a number of burner programs can finish the job. That's why there are so many combinations. However for the initial decryption you'll notice the ooptions aren't as broad. AnyDVD and DVDFab Decrypter for movie only and RI4M for Full DVD seem to be the most popular. Ireland mentioned DVDneXtCopy along with a plugin that could do Saw3. That's not exactly one of the more popular programs, but adds to the list that are supposed to work.
Thanks for all the information. I learn so much from the knowledgable
people on this site. It is so much better in than trying all these
things cold and then having to back out of what didn't work.
Keep up the great conversations. You have no idea how much help
you are being to everybody.
