hi what is the best way to merge to avi's that were split into one movie so you can out them on disk to play ? also can they be left as avi or do they need to be changed

This method can also be done using VirtualDub.

Open the first AVI in virtualdubmod and then go into the file menu and click on Append segment. Youll be asked to choose the video file you wish to add so click on the second part of the movie. After that, save the file.

They will be left as avis.
