I'm not positive since I haven't done the install myself, but here's what I understand after reading step 6 of the tutorial.

type "/etc/inittab" into the command line (Without quotes.)

A bunch of text should pop up after doing this. Use the mouse or keyboard to move to the file "id:3:initdefault:" and change the 3 to a 5, making it "id:5:initdefault:"
