Hi. My probles is similar to user Mattmnz.
Opened video in GSpot. no errors.Rendering claims video can be played in O/S. When playing video back, same as for user Mattmnz,sound ok,but the video is totally garbled,distorted,pink + purple hues.Advice given to Mattmnz was to down-load Virtualdub & open video in it.According to inform. in Knowledge Base link of Virtualdub.org, there are still open bugs in vers. 1.4.13. In the Home link, the 6/19/03 news article mentions: vers. 1.5.4 doesn't process files in direct mode as fast as in vers. 1.4.13 'cause it drops to non-streaming AVI read mod.As video & audio pipelines are decoupled & tend to drift farther apart during operation, leading to the AVI Layer disabling streaming due to a high cache miss rate, & a few other problems. I do not understand any thing of whatI typed.What I would like to know, in simple terms & explanation, will Virtualdub work as it is supposed to (no crashing, or errors),(refer to mentioned problems above) with Windows XP Profess., 32 bit color, 2.41HHZ. I am not a programmer,& know very little about such matters. I learn slowly as I go,with your help. Thanks for your support and advice. Regards
