I did what was suggested in an earlier thread and pulled up videohelp.com but i am unsure on how to read the results. Can anyone out there help me!!!!!!!!!

what are you looking for? just don't cry, HELP ME! we are not mind readers and everyone can't read where you got information before because you didn't post the thread where you got information to do what you said! sooooooo please explain what you need to do and what you did and maybe someone can help you!

I am trying to find the best media for my dvd writer....hp dvd 840e....you don't have to be soooo mean about it...i am new to all this and if i am not asking the right questions then please have patience......thanks

you should be able to write to those disks listed..... a word of advise those..... be more specific in your posts and you'll get better responses.

the best media out there are the ones MIJ (Made In Japan). Look for the label on the box or the spindle for MIJ! those are the ones you want. Verbatim is a top notch disk but are made in Taiwan/Singapore and are the only exception to the MIJ rule..... here is a decent media guide for you:

and a free program to look up manufacturer ID codes:
http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
and here is a free program that will scan your disk after you burn it and see if it burned good and what quality the burn was:
http://www.cdspeed2000.com/
now you're equipped with everything to help you find the best disk you can for your burner! good luck!
