Will these ever be released? I flashed my drive but don't fully understand what the limits of firmware hacks are. Will there ever be a hack to allow my PAL 360 to play all NTSC games?

No because region coding in a game is different than telling the firmware a "backup" is an "XBOX360" game. That's all the firmware flash does, fool the system into thinking a backup is real.
