just wondering if you absolutely need a samsung shd162 drive in ur p.c to rip xbox games.. wont any other dvd-r/w work... any help appreciated

ya you ca also get a Toshiba TS-H352C (IDE) or TS-H353A (SATA)Or a samsung (IDE) or SH-D163A (SATA). but out of the four. the SH-D162C is the easyist to find ATM the ONLY place i have found to get them is either from an overseas computer parts site. or ebay for 50-70 bucks.

its kinda hard to find something thats discontinued... i wonder if microsoft has anything to do with the SH-D162C being dicontinued?
