Is it possible to use a USB memory stick to save games onto?

I plugged one into my unit and it wouldn't allow me, but I am assuming I just don't have it formatted correctly.

Does anyone know if its possible?

Thanks

By save games I mean when I play the game and save my information.

I re read my post and it sounded as if I meant save the full game to the drive.

Is there any kind of trick to be able to save your game state onto the usb drive rather than the memory card or hard drive?

Thanks

I had an idea, but I am not sure if it would work.

What if one were to purchase a memory unit and the transfer kit so that way you could hook it to your pc via usb. Then you take a program such as Acronis TrueImage and make an exact copy of the memory unit drive (file system and all). Now what if you flashed that image onto a blank flash drive thus changing the thumb drives file system and contents into the duplicate of the memory unit.

Would the XBox 360 recognize the usb flash drive as being a memory unit after that? I mean in theory after flashing the image onto the drive it will be identical to the memory unit with the exception of its capacity.

Let me know if this has been tried or if it sounds logical.

Thanks
