Problems Running DVD-Rips through TMPGEnc?!?

Whenever I try to run a dvd rip through tmpgenc to convert to mpeg (from AVI) It never works...I even tryed extracting the audio with VirtualDub and running it through tmpge separetly as a .wav file (With the AVI file),but when I start it..it says it is unsupported,Is it possible to convert dvd-rips through tmpge...because these are the only files i have trouble converting.
If anyone knows what I am talking about,and can help with a couple suggestions or anything would be greatly appriciated!!!

Are you trying to select the VOB fiels only in add VOB. Check the user guide in for TMPGEnc DVD Author in the website in my signature below:
